Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.

What is it that God is calling you too? Step out and fight for the cause of God… Don’t wait to be king, you’ll be jaded by that. Don’t wait ‘til the plan makes sense to everybody. Don’t wait until everyone’s on board. Don’t wait until victory is sure. Wait so long as you feel a passionate compulsion by God, and only that long.

The more we get what we now call ‘ourselves’ out of the way and let Him take us over, the more truly ourselves we become… It is no good trying to ‘be myself’ without Him. The more I resist Him and try to live on my own, the more I become dominated by my own heredity and upbringing and surroundings and natural desires. In fact, what I so proudly call ‘Myself’ becomes merely the meeting place for trains of events which I never started and which I cannot stop. What I call ‘My wishes’ become merely the desires thrown up by my physical organism or pumped into me by other men’s thoughts or even suggested to me by devils… I am not, in my natural state, nearly so much of a person as I like to believe: most of what I call ‘me’ can be very easily explained. It is when I turn to Christ, when I give myself up to His Personality, that I first begin to have a real personality of my own.

I need to do better!

I appreciate them being faithful to me and telling the press that they’re not going to trade me. I don’t really even concentrate on that, regardless. I’m always going to concentrate on trying to rally the troops, be accountable every day, try to lead the team, be aggressive on the floor and make plays so we can win as many games and try to get back to the playoffs. I’m loyal to the Suns, the franchise, the fans. I was given a contract, and I want to honor it. That’s all I’m concerned with. When they tell me it’s time to go, it’s time to go. But until then, I’m just going to play my hardest and try to get better.
